Academic Support That Actually Teaches Students How to Think, Study, and Progress Independently
Many students struggle at university and senior high school not because they are lazy or incapable, but because they were never taught how to think academically, read properly, write well, or manage learning independently.
That is exactly what FLO and MOAD were designed to fix.
FLO – Foundations of Learning Orientation
FLO is a structured, step-by-step academic foundations programme.
It is designed for learners and students who need to build strong academic habits, thinking skills, and study discipline from the ground up.
FLO focuses on:
- How to think critically (not memorise)
- How to read academic material properly
- How to take effective notes
- How to structure answers and assignments
- How to manage time, workload, and academic pressure
- How to move from dependence to confidence in learning
Important: FLO is sequential.
Students must complete each stage in order because each stage builds the skills needed for the next. This is not random tutoring. It is guided academic formation.
Who FLO is for:
- Grade 10–12 learners preparing for matric and university
- Students who pass but do not truly understand their work
- Parents who want more than short-term tutoring fixes
MOAD – Method of Academic Development
MOAD is an advanced academic development system.
It is for students who already have basic foundations and now need to operate at higher academic levels.
MOAD trains students to:
- Read journal articles and advanced texts with precision
- Construct strong academic arguments
- Write analytically rather than descriptively
- Engage critically in seminars, essays, and research tasks
- Develop academic independence and intellectual confidence
- Think at first-year, second-year, third-year, and postgraduate level
MOAD is not about “helping you pass an assignment”.
It is about changing how you think and work as a student.
Who MOAD is for:
- University students (1st year and above)
- Honours and postgraduate students
- Students struggling with academic writing and argumentation
- Students preparing for research, seminars, and postgraduate study
